TCN Commences Restoration of Vandalized Transmission Line in Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has assured the public that restoration efforts are actively underway on the vandalized underground transmission line near Millennium Park, Abuja.

In an official statement released on Tuesday and signed by TCN’s management, the company stated that concerted efforts are being made to replace the damaged cable and reconnect it to the transmission network. The goal is to restore bulk power supply through the affected line as swiftly as possible.

According to the statement, Our engineers, in collaboration with expert cable jointers, are working tirelessly to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and ensure the restoration of normal bulk power supply.

TCN emphasized the critical importance of maintaining a stable and reliable power supply particularly within the Abuja metropolis. The company reaffirmed its commitment to reinstating normal bulk power transmission through the line, enabling the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to offtake and distribute power to its customers.

We recognize the essential need for consistent electricity supply and remain dedicated to ensuring the prompt completion of the cable replacement and reconnection process. This will facilitate the full restoration of bulk power transmission through the affected line, the statement added.

The company further expressed its appreciation to the public for their patience and understanding during the ongoing repair works. It urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around critical power infrastructure to prevent future occurrences of vandalism.
