The Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) has ordered an immediate stop to all construction activities on a designated green area in Katampe District, warning against illegal land encroachment in the Federal Capital Territory.

During an inspection visit to the site behind Gishiri village, AMMC Coordinator Chief Felix Obuah issued a stop-work order to the developer. He was accompanied by directors and heads of agencies under the council.

Obuah explained that the action followed credible reports of unlawful land grabbing and unauthorized development in the area. He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to upholding the Abuja master plan and preserving public spaces.

“The era of lawlessness is over,” Obuah declared. “We will continue to safeguard public spaces and ensure green areas are preserved for the benefit of all residents.”

The AMMC reiterated its warning to developers and individuals to desist from encroaching on protected zones or face legal consequences.
