The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) marked the 2025 International Literacy Day in Wasa, Apo District, with a call to promote digital skills alongside traditional learning.
Director of the Department of Mass Education, Dr Favour Edem-Nse, said literacy today goes beyond reading and writing, stressing its role in empowerment, economic growth, and national development. She noted that digital literacy is vital for Nigerians to thrive in today’s world.
She reaffirmed FCTA’s commitment to reducing illiteracy across all area councils and said more programmes would be introduced to blend classroom learning with digital training.
