Tragedy struck in Abaji after a woman and her two children were discovered dead inside a locked shop along Tudun Wada Street.

Residents had alerted the authorities to a foul smell in the area, prompting police detectives, environmental officers and FRSC personnel to break into the shop with the help of neighbours. Inside, they found the bodies of 44-year-old Ann Patrick Okorie, her daughter Christiana, 13, and son Ebube, 9. The family hailed from Amechi Ohaozara in Ebonyi State.

The corpses were moved to Abaji General Hospital, where doctors confirmed them dead before placing them in the morgue. Police say investigations are ongoing to establish what led to their deaths.

The case adds to recent security concerns in the capital. Earlier this month, police confirmed the discovery of a lifeless body in a vehicle parked inside the National Assembly complex, sparking further questions about safety in Abuja.
