The Department of State Services (DSS) has been accused of holding an Abuja resident, Mrs. Chineze Ozoadibe, in custody for over two months without charges or access to her family.
Her daughter, Miriam Ozoadibe, said her mother was last seen on June 11, 2025, after leaving their Apo home in a silver Lexus SUV to visit a church member in Wuse. Phone tracking later placed her location near the DSS headquarters in Abuja.
Despite reports made to several police stations and petitions sent to the FCT Commissioner of Police, the National Security Adviser, and the DSS Director-General, the family claims they have received no official explanation.
Miriam expressed frustration over the silence, noting that the family’s lawyers have also been denied access. Rights advocates say the case mirrors other instances of prolonged, unexplained detention by the DSS, raising fresh questions about the agency’s respect for due process and human rights.
The DSS has not issued any statement on the matter.
