FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has inaugurated two ad-hoc committees with a two-week mandate to address land use breaches and related disputes in the territory.
The first, led by Barr. Salman Dako, will probe alleged violations of agreements between the FCT Administration and developers of River Park Estate. The second, chaired by Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, will identify properties where land use in the Certificate of Occupancy has been illegally altered, recommending penalties, revocations, or formal conversions.
Wike warned members to carry out their work professionally, free from internal or external influence, and to meet the strict deadline.
He also directed relevant departments to submit a full list of ground rent defaulters from 2022 to 2025 for enforcement, stressing that recovering these funds is critical to financing the 2025 FCT budget, which President Bola Tinubu has already approved.
