The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD-FCT) has warned that the FCT health system is at a breaking point due to manpower shortages, broken equipment, poor welfare, and unpaid allowances.

President Dr. George Ebong said some doctors handle up to 60 patients overnight while vital machines remain non-functional. The doctors issued a one-week ultimatum to fix the crisis or face a warning strike.

In response, Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe said reforms are underway, with new recruitments, improved drug supply, and payment of outstanding allowances to begin soon.
