The Federal Government has disbursed the second installment of the N35,000 wage award arrears to federal civil servants, according to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).
The latest payment covers one month of the five-month arrears, following the initial installment released earlier in the year. With this disbursement, two months have been settled, leaving three months outstanding.
OAGF’s Director of Press, Bawa Mokwa, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to clearing the arrears through monthly payments, dismissing claims that the process had stalled.
Introduced as part of the 2023 fuel subsidy removal palliative, the wage award is intended to cushion the economic pressure on public sector employees across the country.
