FCTA Hooks Women, Youths on Skills at 2025 Crochet Summit

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), in collaboration with NGO Yeye Adesola’s World, hosted the 2025 Crochet Summit from August 5–7 in Abuja to empower women and youths through skill acquisition.

The event aimed to revive crocheting as a creative tool for self-reliance, income generation, and mental wellness.

Speaking at the summit, Dr. Danlami Hayyo represented by Dr. Favour Edem-Nse described crocheting as more than a craft, calling it a way to rebuild lives and create opportunities.

Director of Quality Assurance, Hajiya Titilayo Alayande, encouraged youths to embrace their talents, adding that a simple crochet hook can unlock independence and success.

The summit offered practical training, boosted confidence, and promoted entrepreneurship among participants.
