A fresh political clash has erupted between Senator Ireti Kingibe’s camp and Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant on Public Communications to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, following heated exchanges linked to the senator’s recent criticism of governance in Abuja.

Kennedy Mbele, media aide to Senator Kingibe, fired back at Olayinka’s comments, describing them as “childish, irresponsible, and diversionary.” He accused Olayinka of launching personal attacks to divert attention from pressing governance issues raised by the senator.

Mbele dismissed claims that Senator Kingibe’s aides resigned due to unpaid salaries, stating that no such incident occurred. “All disengaged staff were duly settled. There was no walkout, and certainly no salary default,” he clarified.

He urged Abuja residents not to be misled by what he called Olayinka’s “shameful antics,” stressing that Senator Kingibe’s remarks were based on facts and intended to spotlight issues affecting the FCT.

The back-and-forth underscores growing political tension as scrutiny mounts over the FCT Administration’s performance and leadership under Minister Wike.
