IGP Endorses Book on ‘One Chance’ Robbers, Urges Nigerians to Stay Vigilant
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has called on Nigerians to remain alert and support security efforts as part of the fight against crime, especially in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking at the launch of a new book titled “One Step Ahead of One Chance Robbers and Other Criminals” in Abuja, the IGP represented by FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Saka Adewale praised the author, SP Adebayo Jogbojogbo, for using his real-life policing experience to offer safety tips to the public.
He described the book as a timely and practical guide, especially with the rise in “one chance” robbery incidents. “National security starts with individual vigilance,” Egbetokun said, encouraging residents to be conscious of their surroundings and work closely with the police.
In a goodwill message, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, represented by his adviser Jerry Nwohu, stressed the importance of respecting authority and improving cooperation between citizens and security agencies.
SP Jogbojogbo, who authored the book, said it was his way of contributing to public safety based on years of experience handling criminal cases.
Other guests at the event also called for more awareness and community support, noting that safety is everyone’s responsibility.
