Panic spread across Dukpa Road in Gwagwalada Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), over the weekend after the body of a suspected commercial motorcyclist was discovered in an abandoned structure.

Eyewitnesses said the lifeless body was found by a local resident who had entered the deserted building to relieve himself. Disturbed by the gruesome scene, he quickly alerted nearby motorcyclists, some of whom claimed to recognize the victim as one of their own.

One of the residents, Shuaibu Musa, described the sight as chilling. “His hands were tied behind his back, his throat was slit, and he had multiple stab wounds to the stomach. It appears to be the work of bike thieves,” he said.

Police operatives reportedly arrived at the scene shortly afterward, took records of the incident, and launched an investigation.

Members of the Motorcycle Union in Gwagwalada, led by Dantani Salihu, helped evacuate the body to a nearby mortuary.

As of the time of this report, SP Adeh Josephine, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, had not issued an official statement.

The discovery has left residents in fear and heightened concerns about the growing wave of violent attacks targeting commercial motorcyclists in the area.
