FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the Federal Capital Territory Administration has reached 95% implementation of its 2024 budget. He called this achievement “historic” during his inspection of projects in the Federal Capital City.
“We’ve done not less than 90-95% of the 2024 budget. That has never happened before,” Wike said.
The Minister explained that the 2024 budget was extended until June this year. He added that all projects have received proper funding.
Wike mentioned that the 2025 budget has been sent to the National Assembly, which is on break until April 29. When lawmakers return, the Minister will defend the new budget proposal. However, he stressed that ongoing projects from the 2024 budget will continue as planned.
The Minister was pleased with the work quality at the International Conference Centre (ICC) and various road projects. “The contractors have met our expectations, and we’re making payments on time to avoid delays,” he said.
Wike was particularly impressed with improvements at the ICC, noting that visitors who knew its previous condition would appreciate the transformation. “The conference centre is returning to what it should be,” he said.
