The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged sustained support for the National Youth Service Corps, describing it as a vital force for national unity and development.
Wike, who was represented by the Mandate Secretary for Youth and Sports, Abdullahi Suleiman, made this known at the 2025 Batch A pre-mobilisation workshop held in Abuja on Thursday.
He assured that the FCT Administration would continue to provide corps members with the tools and assistance needed for a productive service year.
Highlighting the NYSC’s impact on preparing young graduates for the labour market, Wike called on all stakeholders to strengthen the scheme through collaboration and innovation.
His remarks come as conversations continue nationwide on reforming the NYSC to meet current economic demands and improve corps members’ welfare.
