The National Association of Seadogs (NAS), also known as the Pyrates Confraternity, has provided free healthcare services to residents of the Dakibiu community in Jabi, Abuja. The medical outreach, aimed at improving healthcare access in underserved areas, benefited hundreds of people with essential checkups, consultations, and medications at no cost.

Speaking on the initiative, Chike Onyia, President of NAS’s Sahara Deck in Abuja, emphasized the urgent need for healthcare support in the community. “We understand the challenges faced by Dakibiu residents. There are no health facilities here, so we stepped in to help ease that burden and promote better health,” Onyia stated.

The medical outreach included free screenings for common illnesses, distribution of essential medications, and consultations with healthcare professionals. Community leaders, including the chief of Dakibiu, Yakubu Lamish, expressed gratitude for the intervention, acknowledging the significant impact of the initiative on residents who otherwise struggle to afford medical care.

Beneficiaries of the program, such as Mrs. Joy Akor, praised the efforts of NAS. “I got free consultation and medicine today, and I’m truly grateful. This is a huge relief for my family,” she said.

This recent outreach aligns with NAS’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian efforts. In December 2022, the organization organized a similar medical mission in the Dei Dei community of Abuja, further demonstrating its dedication to improving healthcare access for Nigeria’s underserved populations.

Through these initiatives, NAS continues to play a crucial role in addressing healthcare challenges in local communities, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare and public health improvement.
