Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have apprehended a suspected kidnap kingpin believed to be behind a string of high-profile abductions across Abuja and neighboring states.
Police sources confirmed that the suspect was arrested on June 17 following a coordinated intelligence-led operation. He is reportedly linked to several heinous crimes, including the kidnapping and murder of a clergyman, the abduction of a woman whose family paid a ₦10 million ransom, and the kidnapping of three children during which their father was killed for resisting the attackers.
The arrest is being hailed as a major breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to curb the rising wave of kidnappings in the capital territory and its environs.
