The Federal Government has begun providing high-speed internet access in hostels at the University of Abuja, aiming to enhance digital learning for students.
The rollout, in partnership with Tizeti and Galaxy Backbone, also includes the University of Lagos and falls under the Ministry of Communications’ Fibre to Hostel initiative.
Students now benefit from internet speeds of 50 to 200 Mbps, improving access to online education, research, and global digital resources.
The Ministry says the public-private initiative will expand to more universities nationwide in future phases.
