Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is in China to advance key water supply projects for Abuja’s satellite towns, his media aide, Lere Olayinka, has confirmed.
The visit, which includes high-level talks with China Geo Engineering Corporation, follows President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 MoU with China to boost infrastructure in water and power sectors.
Wike, who made a brief stop in Dubai, is pushing for faster delivery of the ₦50 billion potable water initiative under the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, targeting areas like Gwagwalada, Kwali, and Kuje.
The trip aims to cement Nigeria-China cooperation and ensure underserved communities in the FCT gain access to clean water. He is expected back in Nigeria next week.
