In a significant move towards modern urban planning, the Karu local government council in Nasarawa State has initiated a street naming and house numbering exercise across the area.

Launched in partnership with G Code Global Services Limited, the project aims to enhance urban organization, improve service delivery, and strengthen emergency response systems.

Mr. Gaza Auta, CEO of G Code Global Services, described the exercise as a “game changer” for residents, visitors, and service providers. He noted that the initiative will standardize addresses, facilitate utility and postal services, and support various government interventions.

“The initiative will provide critical data for town planning, infrastructure development, and future expansion,” Auta explained. G Code Global Services will handle mapping and data collection, conduct surveys, and create digital maps of the communities.

To ensure cultural relevance, street naming and house numbering will be carried out in consultation with community stakeholders. Auta encouraged residents to actively participate by suggesting street names, verifying details, and updating documents to reflect the new addresses.

The current phase of the project, which began in February, is expected to last for the next three years, marking a transformative step for the community.
