The Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration has begun a major assessment of abattoirs, veterinary clinics, and farm infrastructure across the territory.

During a recent meeting in Abuja, Mandate Secretary Abdullahi Ango shared details of the initiative. He stated that facility tours would help connect directly with farmers, stakeholders, and development partners, aiming to boost agricultural programs in the FCT.

“We are working hard to deliver seeds, fertilizers, and farm equipment to our farmers ahead of the rainy season,” Mr. Ango said. He emphasized the urgent need for teamwork and efficiency among staff to meet the secretariat’s goals, noting, “Our farmers are waiting, and the nation is counting on us. We must not delay.”

Mr. Ango highlighted the importance of aligning with the vision of the FCT Administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. He also announced plans to empower agricultural extension workers and enhance public-private partnerships to attract agribusiness investments.

“Service to humanity and the residents of the FCT must remain at the heart of our mission,” he concluded, urging staff to bring innovation and urgency to their work.
