FCTA Moves to Clean Up Land Records, Sets Up Vetting Teams for Area Councils

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has begun a new push to clean up land records across Abuja.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike approved the setup of vetting teams to speed up land regularisation in the six area councils.

The Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, inaugurated the teams on Friday. He said the goal is to fix old problems linked to mass housing titles and land documents.

The vetting teams will identify, check, and regularise genuine land allocations. Special focus will be on mass housing schemes.

Nwankwoeze said the process will allow house owners to secure valid land titles.

He praised Minister Wike for showing strong political will to end the delays in plot allocations and housing titling.

The Director called the move bold and irreversible. He said it would boost public trust and ensure fair service.

He urged developers and subscribers to cooperate fully. He also promised fairness and speed in handling all cases, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
