FCTA Sets Up Vetting Teams to Resolve Plot Allocation Issues in Area Councils

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has taken a major step to resolve the long-standing problem of plot allocation regularization in the six Area Councils of Abuja.

The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, approved the creation of Vetting Teams to speed up the process.

This was announced by the FCT Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, while inaugurating the Vetting Teams on Thursday in Abuja.

Nwankwoeze said the Minister gave the teams clear instructions and a deadline to complete the assignment within a reasonable time.

He explained that the Vetting Teams were set up to tackle the persistent challenges of titling Mass Housing plots.

According to him, the new process will ensure that all owners of unit houses under the Mass Housing Programme across Abuja’s 8,000 square kilometers are properly recorded and issued titles for their homes.

Nwankwoeze added that the government is determined to resolve all pending issues related to plot allocation and house titling in the Area Councils and Mass Housing schemes.

He stressed that this move will clean up land administration in Abuja and restore public trust, especially as the Minister has shown strong political will to complete the process.

Describing the Vetting Teams as a bold and necessary action, Nwankwoeze called on developers and future homeowners to cooperate fully.

He also assured the public that the FCTA is committed to efficient service delivery in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’

Abuja Digest reports that the exercise will be carried out under the Accelerated Area Council Title and Sectional Title Reissuance Scheme (AACSTRIS).
