During an inspection of ongoing projects in Abuja on Thursday, Wike emphasized the importance of the Abuja International Conference Centre renovation, being handled by Julius Berger. He assured that the facility will meet world-class standards, with a dedicated maintenance contract to ensure its long-term sustainability.

Wike also highlighted major road infrastructure projects set for commissioning, including:

  • Two interchanges on Wole Soyinka Way at Murtala Mohammed Way and Shehu Shagari Way.
  • A N16 billion interchange at NICON Junction, enhancing connectivity between Maitama, Katampe, and Gishiri.

Beyond the city center, several infrastructure projects in satellite towns will be completed, such as:

  • A2 Pai rural roads in Kwali.
  • Aguma Palace Road in Gwagwalada.
  • The dualization of the Ushafa to Military Checkpoint Road in Bwari.

Wike affirmed that all projects are fully funded under the 2024 budget, which remains valid until June. He also confirmed that the 2025 budget has been submitted to President Tinubu, expressing confidence that the National Assembly will approve it to sustain ongoing development efforts.

“These projects are essential to improving infrastructure and quality of life in the FCT. We are committed to delivering them as scheduled,” Wike stated.
