Abuja, Nigeria – March 27, 2025 – The Take-It-Back Movement plans a mass protest in Abuja against demolitions and forced evictions by the FCT Administration, led by Minister Nyesom Wike.

The movement, known for social justice advocacy, is mobilizing residents and activists. They argue that recent demolitions have left thousands homeless.

The FCT Administration plans to demolish about 6,000 buildings in areas like Apo Mechanic Village, Byanzhin, Dawaki, and Dei Dei. Minister Wike says the goal is to restore Abuja’s master plan and improve security.

Residents and activists say the demolitions are unfair and cruel. Emmanuel Larry, an Abuja coordinator, said, “This is not just about buildings. It’s about people losing their homes and futures. We demand a stop and proper resettlement.”

Protests are set for key locations in Abuja. The movement requested Eagle Square as a rally point, but officials have not responded, increasing tensions.

Human rights advocate Deji Adeyanju urged President Bola Tinubu to step in. “It’s wrong to make thousands homeless without alternatives,” he said.

Despite protests, the FCT Administration insists demolitions will continue to control illegal developments.

As tensions rise, many are watching to see if the protests will change government policies. The Take-It-Back Movement vows to keep fighting for a fair solution.
