FCT Begins Selection of Workers for Leadership Training Under LEAD-P The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has started selecting workers from its Secretariats, Departments, and Agencies (SDAs) for a leadership training program under the Leadership Enhancement and Development Program (LEAD-P).
Speaking at the launch of the selection process, the Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, Mrs. Grace Adaiyilo, said the program was approved by the FCT Minister to help train officers from grade levels 10-14.
The goal is to prepare them for leadership roles such as directors, permanent secretaries, and even Head of Service positions in the future.
She encouraged participants to make the most of the program by actively engaging, learning, and networking to improve their personal and professional skills.
Mrs. Adaiyilo also emphasized that this initiative, known as the FCT (LEAD-P) Presidential Cohort Batch 1, is a crucial step in building a pool of skilled and capable leaders for the FCTA.
Meanwhile, the Acting Director of FCT Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, revealed that 975 applicants who applied online in December 2024 are currently taking the first stage of the selection process a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
She explained that after all the selection stages, the top 100 participants will undergo seven months of intensive training, both within and outside Abuja, to enhance service delivery.
Dr. Ahmadu also highlighted that this is the first time such a structured leadership program is being conducted in the FCTA.
Her department is providing technical support to ensure that 100 workers are trained each year through a rigorous selection process. This initiative aims to groom future leaders and improve governance in the FCT.
