Abuja, Nigeria – October 5, 2025
Armed men suspected to be kidnappers have killed Dr Ifeanyi Ogbu, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), FCT Chapter, and abducted his three children in a late-night attack at his Kubwa–Kaduna Road residence.
The assailants reportedly invaded his home on Friday, whisked him and his children away, and later dumped his body by the roadside.
The tragedy, confirmed by a colleague, Andrew Gabriel Ikechukwu, has sparked outrage across Abuja, with residents mourning the respected vet and demanding urgent action against the rising insecurity in the city.
Dr Ogbu’s children remain in captivity, while the police have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
