The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Education Resource Center is celebrating the 2025 World Literacy Day. This is done through its City Library. It made a call for stronger action to bridge Nigeria’s digital literacy gap.
Representing the Center’s Director, Dr Neemat Daud Abdulrahim, Mr Friday Bere said that technology has widened access to knowledge. Yet, it has also deepened inequality. He explained that the City Library is being repositioned. It will supply ICT training and digital resources. It will also offer partnerships that promote inclusive learning.
Guest speaker Mrs Nkiruka Nwofor, Principal of Anglican Girls Grammar School, Apo, urged students to think critically and use digital knowledge responsibly, while educator Dr M. S. Abubakar encouraged discipline and excellence, drawing lessons from the book “Life Principles for Greatness.”
