Abuja vigilantes have arrested a man, identified as Adamu Saleh, for attempting to sell a stolen ram at the Abaji Cattle Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The arrest occurred on Saturday, market day, following a report by Malam Yakubu Hussaini, a resident of Sumami village near Rubochi in Kuje Area Council, who noticed his ram was missing.

Saidu Ibrahim, a member of the vigilante group, said the suspect was apprehended when he tried to sell the ram at the market. The owner immediately alerted the vigilantes and the cattle dealers’ association, which led to the prompt arrest.

The FCT vigilantes have handed over Saleh to the relevant authorities for further investigation. This incident highlights the proactive role of community security and vigilante groups in Abuja in curbing theft at local markets.
