The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has provided an update on efforts to restore services along the Abuja–Kaduna rail corridor, following the recent derailment that disrupted operations and raised safety concerns.
According to the NRC, engineers and technical staff are working tirelessly to repair damaged tracks, strengthen infrastructure, and conduct detailed safety checks. The rail line, which serves as a lifeline for thousands of passengers traveling between the Federal Capital Territory and Kaduna, is seen as one of the country’s most vital transport routes.
Officials noted that lessons learned from the derailment are being used to improve overall railway operations. “We are committed to restoring service and ensuring that safety remains the top priority,” an NRC spokesperson assured.
The corporation also appealed to passengers for patience, emphasizing that full services would soon resume with stricter safety measures in place.
