FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has honoured the memory of Mrs Grace Adayilo, the late Head of FCTA Civil Service, at her funeral held on September 20, 2025, at the National Christian Centre, Abuja. Adayilo, fondly called “Mama Africa,” passed away on September 1, 2025.
Wike praised her as a devoted, humble, and tireless civil servant who played a key role in ensuring workers’ welfare in Abuja. He recalled her integrity and loyalty, describing her as “a rock” within the administration. He also announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved automatic employment for Adayilo’s four children as a gesture of support.
The funeral, attended by dignitaries including Senator Philip Aduda, traditional rulers, and FCTA officials, featured gospel performances by Solomon Lange and Prospa Ochimana. Adayilo was remembered for her remarkable service, strong advocacy for Abuja’s indigenous people, and her lasting legacy as the first female and indigenous Head of the FCTA Civil Service.
