The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has called off its strike in the FCT after Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike addressed their demands, including allowances and new doctor hires.

At a press briefing in Abuja, NARD President Dr Osundayo Tope Zenith thanked Wike, stressing the strike targeted healthcare gaps, not politics.

Dr Dolapo Fasawe, FCTA Health Secretary, announced 37 new doctors hired, with 300 more planned, and lasting reforms in place. She debunked an Ebola scare, confirming a patient from Rwanda tested negative for Ebola and Marburg. “Our surveillance is solid,” she said, crediting Wike’s health investments. Fasawe urged responsible reporting and public vigilance, noting collaboration with the NCDC for border safety.
