A multi-million-naira, 50-bed hospital facilitated by Senator Ireti Kingibe’s constituency project has been abandoned in Dobi Ward, Gwagwalada, leaving residents without access to healthcare.
The facility, launched with fanfare, is now deteriorating, with collapsed ceilings and unused medical equipment. Community leader Usman Mohammed accused the project handlers of corruption, alleging that the contractor was a close ally of Senator Kingibe.
Frustrated residents have called on the ICPC to investigate.
But Senator Kingibe’s office denied the allegations, blaming delays on staffing, funding, and handover issues. Constituency office head Emmanuel John insisted the project was completed and would soon be commissioned, stressing that lawmakers only facilitate while government agencies execute and manage such projects.
