
Authorities in the FCT have demolished hundreds of makeshift structures along the proposed Ring Road 3 as part of a sweeping clearance drive aimed at enhancing security and restoring order.
Director of Development Control, Muktar Galadima, who led the operation, said more than 1,000 shacks had already been removed, with work continuing along the two-kilometer stretch.
He stressed that indigenous homes were left untouched, adding that the Department of Resettlement is involved in verifying legitimate properties.
Peter Olumuji, head of the FCTA’s Command and Control Unit, noted that the exercise reflects the administration’s resolve to link security with proper development control. No arrests were made during the operation.
