
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reports that 1,379,342 Nigerians completed online pre-registration during the first week of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), held from August 18 to 24, 2025.
Lagos recorded the highest applications with 222,205, while Osun led by percentage share with 393,269. Ogun (132,823), FCT (107,682), Oyo (66,951), Kaduna (61,592), and Kogi (58,546) also recorded strong numbers. The South-East posted the lowest turnout, with Ebonyi (261), Enugu (484), Imo (481), and Abia (772).
INEC announced that the physical phase of the CVR began today across 811 centres in all LGAs, covering biometric capture, transfers, replacement of PVCs, and updates of voter information. Registration is available from Mondays to Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Nigerians aged 18 and above.
The commission assured that provisions are in place for persons with disabilities, while its online portal continues to provide services such as pre-registration, PVC status checks, transfers, and card replacement.
