Nigeria has advanced its clean mobility agenda with the delivery of four hybrid Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). Supplied by Pi-CNG Limited, the buses were handed over to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on Thursday as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential CNG Initiative.

In partnership with NNPC Limited, the programme seeks to cut transport costs, reduce emissions, and expand sustainable public transit nationwide. The FCTA will manage daily operations, while Pi-CNG monitors performance.

Programme Director Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi said the rollout would ease mobility challenges and lower environmental impact. Representing Minister Wike, Dr. Chinedum Elechi highlighted the buses’ role in improving Abuja’s transport network.

The handover at the FCTA Complex, which included formal agreements and key transfers, sets the stage for possible nationwide adoption, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s push for affordable, eco-friendly transportation.
