Residents of Naharati in Abaji Area Council were thrown into mourning on Saturday after a retired medical officer, formerly with the Gwagwalada Area Council township clinic, died peacefully in his sleep.

Family members said the death occurred in the early hours, with two of his younger sons finding him unresponsive at about 6:12 a.m. His eldest son, Zawali Danlami Nabarth, recalled that the evening before, he appeared to be in good health.

“When I got to him, I realized he had already passed away,” Nabarth said. The family rushed him to the general hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.

The late medic had retired from active service two years ago. He was buried the same day in accordance with Islamic rites. Nabarth, who previously contested for the APC councillorship seat for Rumba/Ebagi Ward, described his father as a dedicated civil servant and a loving family man.
