Authorities have placed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on high alert following a severe flood warning from the National Flood Early Warning System (FEWS), under the Federal Ministry of Environment.
The warning, issued Thursday, cautions residents in Abuja and surrounding states to prepare for possible flooding due to continuous heavy rainfall. FEWS advised swift precautionary steps to safeguard lives and property.
High-risk areas identified include Asokoro, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Damagaza, Garki 1 and 2, Guzape, Wuse 1 and 2, Gwarinpa, Nyanya, the Central Business District (CBD), and Kubwa.
