President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of Mrs. Grace Adayilo, the late Head of the FCT Civil Service, who passed away on September 1, 2025. FCT Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike announced the move during Adayilo’s funeral at the National Christian Centre in Abuja on September 20.
Wike described Adayilo, nicknamed “Mama Africa,” as a devoted civil servant who championed the welfare of FCTA staff and FCT’s indigenous people. She was the first female and indigenous Head of the FCT Civil Service, leaving a lasting legacy of integrity and service.
The funeral attracted dignitaries including former Senator Philip Aduda, Area Council Chairmen, traditional leaders, and gospel artists Solomon Lange and Prospa Ochimana. Archbishop Jonathan Jo urged attendees to use their lives to positively impact others, highlighting Adayilo’s life of service and compassion.
