Police Intervene in Abuja, Rescue Family from Armed Father
FCT Police nabbed 45-year-old David Tersoo in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly beating his family and keeping an illegal firearm. After a distress call on September 9, cops and the Ministry of Women Affairs rescued his wife and three kids, aged eight, three, and nine months, who were kicked out of their home at midnight. One kid had bruises, and they’re now safe.
Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh said Tersoo, a contractor with a history of abuse, hid behind a bulletproof door with a pump-action gun. After a standoff, he was arrested, and cops seized the weapon and suspected drugs. He’s being tested as the investigation rolls on.
CP Ajao thanked neighbours and the Ministry for their quick action, urging victims to speak up. This bust is part of FCT’s fight against domestic violence and illegal guns.
