Adesanya Adure, a receptionist at the Mountain of Fire Hostel, got hauled into a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Abuja for allegedly pocketing $380,000 from a guest.
Prosecutor Samuel Emmanuel told the court that Ohakwe Ebere reported the theft to Utako Police Station on September 2. He said Adure switched the guest’s room without permission on September 1, and the cash stashed under the bed vanished.
Adure denied the charges, which break Section 287 of the Penal Code. Chief Magistrate Farida Ibrahim let her out on N300,000 bail, but she needs a solid surety who lives nearby.
The case is on hold while police dig deeper.
