The Change Development Initiative (CCDI), in partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland, has completed the renovation and construction of toilet and library facilities at LEA Pilot Science Primary School and LEA Primary School Phase Three in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
The project forms part of the Public-School Revival Initiative, designed to upgrade infrastructure, improve the learning atmosphere, and support educational growth for children in public schools.
At the commissioning event, CCDI Executive Director, Mrs. Sharon Ayeni, said the facilities were “not just bricks, doors, and books, but symbols of dignity, opportunity, and hope.
” She added that the new library would “open doors to new worlds, spark imagination, and equip young minds to dream and achieve.”
Chargé d’Affaires of the Swiss Embassy, Mr. Siamak Rouhani, also praised the collaboration, noting that though a library may appear simple,
“It carries far-reaching significance as a space that inspires knowledge, creativity, and a brighter future for children.”
The new facilities are expected to foster a stronger reading culture, enhance learning, and provide pupils with a more conducive and safe environment.
