Traders at Abuja’s Zone 3 Neighbourhood Centre say poor facilities and rising costs are putting their businesses at risk.

They cite overcrowded shops, lack of parking, high rents, and unhygienic toilets as key problems.

Furniture dealer Obiora Iheanacho said cramped spaces make work difficult, while abandoned cars take up scarce parking. Another trader, Obiora Okeke, urged the FCT to remove the vehicles to improve access.

Mrs. Blessing Joseph lamented that annual rents of ₦1.5–₦2 million are unaffordable for small traders and called for rent regulation.

On sanitation, Mrs. Martha Ubeh described the toilets as “embarrassing and unhealthy,” warning of possible health risks.

The traders are appealing for urgent government action to upgrade infrastructure, regulate rents, and improve hygiene.
