The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustain the demolition of shanties and illegal parks identified as criminal hideouts across Abuja.
The move follows a joint security operation last week that dismantled illegal structures, impounded vehicles, and seized weapons in hotspot areas, including a section of Jazz and Blues Entertainment at Panorama Recreational Park, Wuse Zone 3.
According to FCT Minister’s aide, Lere Olayinka, the cleanup is based on credible intelligence from security agencies, not targeted persecution. He said contravention notices and eviction orders were issued months before the August 6 exercise.
The FCTA pledged to extend the citywide operation to other districts to improve public safety and restore order in the capital.
