The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has recorded a major milestone in public healthcare by significantly expanding insurance coverage and overhauling health infrastructure throughout the region.
During a recent press briefing in Abuja, Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, Secretary of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat, announced that the number of individuals enrolled in the FCT Health Insurance Scheme has soared to more than 800,000, reflecting a dramatic increase compared to past enrollment.
She attributed this growth to ongoing awareness campaigns, the introduction of digital healthcare systems, and deliberate efforts to ensure widespread participation.
Dr. Fasawe also revealed that upwards of 30 primary and secondary health centres have undergone extensive renovations, received advanced medical equipment, and been assigned additional medical personnel to strengthen patient care.
She emphasized the FCTA’s unwavering focus on delivering affordable, high-standard, and accessible medical services to all residents of the capital territory.
