Seven-year-old Abdullahi Muhammad, who went missing from Dakwa in Bwari Area Council, FCT, in November 2024, has been reunited with his family after eight months in captivity.
The boy was reportedly abducted by suspected traffickers and later found wandering in Aba, Abia State. He was rescued by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and brought back to Abuja by Area Commander Vanger Scholastica.
Unable to speak initially, Abdullahi later revealed his name and his mother’s, which helped trace his identity. His mother, Hauwa’u Yakubu, confirmed he was her son through old injury marks.
NSCDC officials handed him over at their national headquarters without charging the family, earning praise from the agency’s PRO, CSC Babawale Afolabi, who urged the mother to enroll him in school and give him proper care.
