Nineteen volunteer staff of the FCTA have trained over 5,000 civil servants to prepare them for the upcoming promotion exams, now fully shifted to Computer-Based Tests (CBT).

The training, led by Jacinta Ewuzie of GSS Gwarimpa, began in February and was delivered through WhatsApp and in-person sessions. It targeted officers on Grade Levels 7 to 16.

Ewuzie said the idea was to help staff unfamiliar with digital tools. With the support of ICT Director Austin Ugafor, practical training started on July 14.

A major breakthrough came from volunteer Gbenga Olabode of the Fire Service, who developed CBT software in just two days.

Participants praised the effort, saying it boosted their confidence. Many admitted to having no prior ICT skills.

The FCTA has scheduled the CBT exams for August 12–13, 2025, starting with Deputy Directors, according to a circular dated June 26.
