The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a public holiday to honour former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in London on Sunday, July 13, at age 82.
The announcement, made by the Minister of Interior, is part of a week-long national mourning period declared by President Bola Tinubu, during which flags will be flown at half-mast nationwide.
The government described the holiday as a moment for national reflection, unity, and respect for Buhari’s legacy.
