FCTA Launches Crackdown on Beggars, Scavengers, and Criminals in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has begun Operation Sweep Abuja—a citywide clampdown on street beggars, scavengers, illegal traders, and criminal gangs.
Announcing the move, Mr. Lere Olayinka, aide to Minister Nyesom Wike, said the operation targets urban nuisances and crimes like the “one-chance” syndicates.
A joint task force has been deployed across Abuja and satellite towns. Offenders will be arrested, profiled, and returned to their home states.
Residents are urged to report suspicious activities via 08061581938 or 08032003913.
