The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a power outage affecting several parts of the Federal Capital Territory, citing a technical fault.
In a notice shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, the Disco said areas currently without power include INEC Quarters, Adamu Alero, Babagana Kinigbe, Nasir El-Rufai and surrounding areas in Asokoro.
“We regret to inform you that the ongoing power outage affecting your area is due to a technical fault. Our technical team is working tirelessly to restore power supply as quickly as possible,” the statement read.
This latest development comes just days after AEDC extended a planned outage in parts of Abuja from June 30 to July 31. That interruption, which runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m., is linked to ongoing construction of a dedicated 33KV feeder to the African Medical Centre of Excellence by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Residents have expressed concern over the prolonged power disruptions, urging AEDC to speed up repair and construction work to minimize inconvenience.
