A kidnap victim has been rescued by a joint security task force (JTF) after a long and intense 40-kilometre operation through the forest on the outskirts of Abuja.
The victim was abducted from a nearby community and taken deep into the bush by the kidnappers. Acting on intelligence, security operatives tracked the gang and launched a rescue mission that lasted several hours.
Sources say the team moved on foot through rough terrain before locating the hideout. One suspect was arrested, while others escaped. Thankfully, the victim was rescued unharmed and is now back home safely.
The operation is part of renewed efforts to crack down on kidnappers and improve security across the FCT.
